Sam-Dratch-pictureOctober 10, 2018. Washington, D.C. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the unexpected death of Sam Dratch on October 6, 2018. Sam was an intern with the National Whistleblower Center in 2007 and stayed on as a full-time staff member until leaving to attend law school in 2009.

Sam was an integral part of our team advocating on behalf of whistleblower rights. He is remembered as kind-hearted and dedicated to helping others.

At the time of his death, Sam was an Assistant Public Defender in Palm Beach, Florida and was a Board member of the Palm Beach Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (PBACDL). The PBACDL paid tribute to Sam stating:

“Sam was a fearless warrior of justice and fairness for his indigent clients. He was a relentless fighter whose tenacity could only be rivaled by the brightness of his sweet smile. He was what every criminal defense attorney should be.”

We express our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
