The National Whistleblowers Center (NWC) will participate in the upcoming Whistleblower Summit which will be held July 29, 2013 through July 31, 2013, in Washington, D.C. The Whistleblower Summit is being organized by several different whistleblower advocacy groups.  The Whistleblower Summit is open to the public.

The events in which the NWC will participate are:

Monday, July 29:

Michael Kohn, president of the NWC will speak at the opening plenary session. This event will be held at the Stewart E. Mott House (122 Maryland Ave. NE 20002) from 9:30am to 10:30am.

 David Colapinto, general counsel of the National Whistleblowers, will be a guest speaker on a panel. He will address the need to shift the perception of whistleblowers from negative to positive. This event will also be at the Mott House from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Tuesday, July 30:

Stephen Kohn, Executive Director of the National Whistleblowers Center, will participate in a press conference where he will address the importance of Whistleblower Appreciation Day and its role in changing the perception of whistleblowers. This event will take place at the National Press Club in the Zenger room (529 14th street NW, 20045) from 9a.m. to 11 a.m.

Stephen Kohn, one of America’s most experienced and accomplished whistleblower attorneys, will participate in an authors’ panel and book signing at Busboys and Poets for the newly updated third edition of The Whistleblower’s Handbook: A Step-by-Step Guide to Doing What’s Right and Protecting Yourself. Immediately following the book signing, there will be a film screening of the feature documentary War on Whistleblowers. This event will take place at the 5th and K location from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
